Question: Can you fall in love in high school?

Sometimes couples who fall in love in high school develop committed relationships that last. But its not because teens arent capable of deep loving. We typically have shorter relationships as teens because adolescence is a time when we instinctively seek lots of different experiences and try out different things.

Can a 16 year old fall in love?

Dear True Love: Of course you can be in love at 16. Ive known kindergartners hit by Cupids tipped arrows. Anyone whos been shot understands the delicious delirium, the absolute “walking on air.” Often called infatuation or lust, this phase of love usually gets a bad rap. But it is how most true love starts.

Is high school love real?

Teen love is real. If youre a teenager in love, your relationship is important to you; and if you work on it, it stands just as good a chance of lasting as any adult relationship. Teen relationships may have unique challenges, but with commitment and communication, they can stand the test of time.

Do relationships in high school last?

The majority of the time, high school relationships do not last, as only two percent of new marriages in North America are compromised of “high school sweethearts.” But the fact that these relationships do not last until marriage in no sense means that they do not teach those involved valuable lessons.

Should I be in a relationship at 16?

Theres no right answer. Its important to consider your child as an individual. For many kids, 16 seems to be an appropriate age, but it may be entirely suitable for a mature 15-year-old to go on a date, or to make your immature 16-year-old wait a year or two. You can also consider what other parents are doing.
